Fandango, an NBCUniversal company and the leading moviegoer destination, chose Unitas Global to manage, monitor and maintain their southern California disaster recovery facility. Due to their tremendous volume of transactions, Fandango needed a concurrently maintainable disaster recovery solution managed by experienced and trusted infrastructure experts, which they found in Unitas Global. Unitas infrastructure engineers in three Support Operations Centers in Brussels, Hong Kong and Los Angeles monitor, maintain, and manage Fandango’s DR environment 24/7. Fandango is also utilizing Unitas' unified management dashboard, Unitas Atlas®, which provides complete visibility into Fandango’s entire disaster recovery environment.
Health Access Solutions
Health Access Solutions, a San Francisco-based coordinated care management Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions provider, selected Unitas Global as their Enterprise Private Cloud (EPC) provider. Health Access Solutions is now equipped with a highly secure, scalable, and HIPAA compliant private cloud infrastructure ideal for serving customers in the healthcare vertical. Health Access Solutions' Integrated Health Management (IHM) Suite is a care management optimization solution that combines administrative and clinical data with care process automation to dramatically improve the delivery of patient-centered and coordinated care. In order to efficiently and securely deliver its solution to more than 26,000 physicians, extended care teams and Health Plan medical management staff, the company needed a private, scalable and compliant cloud infrastructure and found just that in Unitas' EPC solution.
Allied Wallet, a PCI compliant internet payment service provider, chose Unitas Global to design, deploy and manage two enterprise private cloud environments (one active and one standby/DR site). The environments are both fully Level-1 PCI compliant due to Allied Wallet being one the largest credit card transaction processors worldwide. Unitas engineers monitor and maintain both EPC environments 24/7 from Unitas’ global support operations centers. Unitas engineers also monitor and test application perform and provide design improvement consultations.
The Trade Desk
The Trade Desk, an online advertising platform, chose Unitas Global to expand its global network. The Trade Desks’ real-time bidding exchange required low latency and diverse connectivity in order to provide its customers the reliable experience they require. With facilities in North America and Europe, The Trade Desk needed a point of presence in the Asia-Pacific. The Trade Desk’s expansion requirements included: A centralized facility, access to multiple low-latency network providers, a customer-centric SLA and fully managed services. Unitas Global’s ability to deliver these necessary requirements, and more, translated to The Trade Desk's new strategic Asia-Pacific location.
The Management Team
Patrick brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the technology industry. Previously, Patrick co-founded and served as CEO for Universal Access, growing the company from a start-up to a $144 million run rate, eventually taking the company public in 2000. He went on to found 20/20 Technologies, which after multiple acquisitions, became Global Capacity.
A serial entrepreneur by trade, Grant is a technologist at heart. He most recently served as the CTO at PacketExchange, a London-based global tele-communications firm. He was previously the founder and CEO of Mzima Networks, an Internet service provider that grew to over 40 points of presence around the world.
Bob has over 25 years of global investing and operating experience. He has held senior executive and/or board positions at GE Capital, Internet Capital Group, Universal Access, ICG Commerce, Mobility Technologies and Global Capacity. His early career included technical and marketing positions at Texas Instruments and GE. Bob earned his MBA at Harvard, engineering, finance degrees at U. of Penn.
Steve has been a sales leader in managed hosting and cloud computing for over 14 years. At Terremark, Steve served as Vice President of Sales for The Americas and then as Senior Vice President of Global Sales. Most recently he was Vice President of Enterprise Sales for VMware’s vCloud Hybrid Service.
Lou has been an IT Professional for over 20 years, with 15 years of experience in Information Security. He has extensive experience with Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC), Incident Response and Security Architecture, having held leadership roles with organizations of all sizes around the globe.
Kelvin has over 25 years of experience managing the finance and accounting functions of both public and privately held companies. Prior to joining Unitas Global, Kelvin served as the Corporate Controller for a national rental car company and CFO for a regional healthcare provider. Additionally, he spent eight years as Regional Controller and then Director of Finance for the Westfield Group. Kelvin is a Certified Public Accountant. He earned his MBA in Finance at Indiana University and B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering at University of Hong Kong.
Paco has been in IT for over 19 years. Starting out as an IT generalist and then serving as an information security officer for a mid-west region commercial bank, he went on to serve as a director of IT compliance for Texas Tech University and the University of Alabama. Returning home to the Kansas City metro, Paco worked as a senior consultant with BKD performing IT risk consulting, audits, and attestation services. Paco earned his MBA from Baker University, is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
Jaime has over 18 years of experience as an IT engineering service manager. She specializes in leveraging ITIL business processes and analysis to create dynamic, highly-available service operations. Most recently, Jaime served as Vice President of Cloud Operations for AOS Cloud.
With over 15 years experience in directing and managing large complex technical network communication programs, installations and projects in a variety of government, financial and private sector technology environments, Saam has always put the client first. Prior to Unitas, Saam served in service delivery and management roles at United Telecom, ETTICO Solutions and PCS.
Janet has over 13 years of experience across corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, investment banking, and public accounting. Prior to Unitas, Janet led the FP&A team at Fullscreen, assisting the company in its equity capital transactions and a successful sale of the company to Otter Media in 2014. Janet also provided finance leadership at Pandora Media both before and after their IPO in 2011. Janet is a licensed CPA and holds an MBA from MIT, an MA in Economics from NYU, and a BS in Business Administration from UC Berkeley.
Jonathan "Joss" Wynne Evans, Head of Legal Affairs, is an entrepreneur with wide commercial experience and a company lawyer of fifteen years experience. He was formerly general counsel to Global Capacity Inc. He lives and works out of the Highlands of Scotland.
Elaine leads the marketing department by integrating startup ideals and enterprise methodologies. With pride and enthusiasm, she manages all internal and external communication while formulating and implementing strategy around cloud solutions, content development, and events. Elaine holds her BA from LMU in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing, as well as Travel and Tourism, and a minor in Art History.
Farrah has over 18 years of IT experience, primarily in the telecommunication industry. Prior to Unitas Global, Farrah held senior level roles in business development and management at several start-ups, such as Mzima Networks, and Fortune 500 and multinational corporations, such as PacketExchange, GTT, Arbinet, and NTT/VERIO. Farrah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from California State University, Fullerton.
As EVP of Partner Alliances, Lawrence brings over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. Most recently, he served for 8 years as VP of Business Development at Allyance Communications. He has also held key sales and management roles at Nortel Networks, Qwest Communications, and AboveNet. Now based in Southern California, Lawrence has worked and lived abroad in both South Korea and Japan.
Erik has over 13 years of management experience in finance, technology, operations, and sales. Prior to Unitas Global, Erik held the position of VP of Sales at CoreSite, a publicly traded data center REIT (NYSE: COR), and served as a senior financial analyst for The Carlyle Group, a global private equity firm. Erik holds a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis on Global Management from the University of Southern California.
Paul Weinstein is a founding General Partner at Azure Capital Partners, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm with over $750 million under management. Prior to founding Azure, Paul was a managing director with Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, PaineWebber and Kidder Peabody. With over 25 years of investment experience, Paul’s primary investment focus is on communications technology, data center, cloud infrastructure and applications and mobility solutions. Paul is Chairman of Unitas and represents Azure Capital on the Boards of Unitas, Fonality, Coraid and Load Dynamix. He is a graduate of Babson College with a BS degree in Finance and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Bret Maxwell is a Managing General Partner at MK Capital. He is also the Managing General Partner on three of the Productivity Funds totaling $200 million in committed capital. Bret has been a decision-making partner in six other fully invested funds, representing over $300 million in committed capital. Prior to founding MK Capital, he was the co-Founder of First Analysis' venture capital practice in 1985. Bret's areas of expertise include outsourced business services, telecom and internet infrastructure, and energy and power infrastructure. Bret is a graduate of The McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University and Kellogg's Graduate School of Management. He has served as the Chairman of the Illinois Venture Capital Association, and is a director on the board of Mount Sinai Hospital and on the finance committee of the Jewish United Fund. He is also a Certified Financial Analyst.
